In a girlish sentiment, I focus on the intimate and sensorial instincts of femininity. I delve into the obscure instances that evoke a feeling of nostalgia. This nostalgia brings me to a time of feminine child-like curiosity and wonder, when I would become lost fidgeting with the sand in between my fingers. I would be transported into a realm separate from reality, only focusing on the wonder and feeling of what I was experiencing. The instances emerge from sensations, smells, songs, or memories. To demonstrate these sensuous moments, I photograph myself and the woman in my life interacting with the textures and environment around them. With these photos, I chose to cut and paste bits and pieces together to emulate a youthful wandering mind and how we focus on the details of our surroundings. I hope to create a stimulating and wondrous experience for the viewers and provide a relatable experience. I took inspiration from Pipilotti Rist and her ability to illustrate playful instinct and feminine joy.
